Exclamation quick advice needed

firstly apologies for this being in the wrong section but i need some quick advice, before setting off on a short journey in the car i checked my water level as i had a leak a few weeks ago,all was well so i set off,i done about 5 miles when the temp gauge went to about the 3/4's point on the gauge,so i turned round and came home, when i opened the bonnet i noticed that the level on the white coolant bottle had risen right to the top and some water had been lost through the cap, when it cooled down it went right below the low level indicator on the bottle i filled it back up again and went out for another drive about 6 hours later, the gauge didnt move above the quarter mark but the level in the white bottle had risen right up again and started to leak out the cap slightly
Now i guess theres a problem somewhere but does anyone know what it could be?? i cant really afford for a garage to look at it at the moment so im hoping i will be able to sort it out myself!

Any advice would be much appriciated as i need to get it sorted asap

Head gasket start of a failure 100% if u drive real slow of boost it will not overheat for a while soon as u put boost through head lifts and throws water out the coolant tank..

sorry i should not say 100% but what u have described i have had a few times and its always been gasket failure ..

cost that depends alot on who does it what spec you want ect ect ..

one way of deffo checking get some rubber pipe attach it to coolant tank overflow, then up under the bonnet and tape onto screen if water shoots on ya screen after boost then i would say head gasket buddy..

Hi Mate, dont know if this will help as a short term fix, just noticed it in this months Banzai magazine. The stuff is called steel seal, and is said to be used on blown head gaskets, warped heads and cracked blocks.

Have a look here to find out a little more. http://www.a1motorstores.co.uk/catal...eel-seal-sseal

Cheers
