painting block and parts at weekend :)
Hi, my engine of my car is looking rather crusty so ive decided to strip most of the parts (that i can!, look out for posts when i cant put things back on sunday lol!) and spray the block and stuff like alternater and some pipes with spray can also rub down and spray some parts black and gold etc..
what sort of spray in the can do i need? do i just buy the high temp silver paint will this be suitable?
also before hand i will be removing the undertray and de-greasing the engine with one of those spray foam can things then blasting off..
regards to that what is the best spray/degreasant leave on spray to get and also how do i go about protecting my air filter and such before they get soaking drenched :S
cheers!

i would personally use high temperature paint , im using caliper paint as the coverage is amazing , you can apply it quite thick with a decent brush without havin to worry about runs ! making sure you have done a good job of preparing whatever you are going to paint , is the most important part of painting ! use wire wool , abrasive pads , wire brushes and remove any dust and grease . ive got my paint on ebay . there is alot of it about and it is about £10 a small tin , you be surprised how far a small tin goes ! and probably cheaper too ? good luck and post pics when done mate
