Default cam shaft pulley - can't undo allen bolt!

i'm trying to change the camshaft toothed pulley wheel on my ej20 2002 engine but it won't budge! i've tried a good quality allen key with a 3 foot pipe undoing anticlockwise, then i tried an impact driver (makita 440n/meter) and it still won't budge.
is it a standard thread, anticlockise to undo?
cheers

yes mate they are proper tight, make sure you have it locked off with the proper large spanner and whilst applying pressure get someone to shock it with a hammer.

If all else fails, drill the bolt through with a 10mm drill bit - thats enough to release the tension on the head.

the engine has been rebuilt by a subaru dealer with nice internals but it makes me wonder what locktite the mechanic used. brfore i resort to drilling the bolt out i was going to take the engine around a local garage and see if a air impact wrench will do a better job.
if i drill the head off i may endup with the threaded bit stuck for good then it's new cam time.
I did wonder if heating the bolt to maybe soften the loctite may help. It is undo anticlockwise yes?
cheers

don't be scared of braking it lock it off and use a strong bar with scaffold pipe it will come undone I've had a few really tight ones I've found away of locking the pulley off with an old cambelt, then put some serious weight on the pulley and get someone to shock the end of the bolt with an hammer.

Dont shock the head of the bolt with a hammer - you will damage/break one of the thrust faces on the camshaft.
