turbo 2000 what bhp you running and what mileage?
hello just a bit of research!
If you have a turbo 2000 (UK) 2.0 turbo (NOT STi, no offence sti owners ), whats your engine mileage and mods, and what BHP/Torque you running..
as i've just been reading up the mods you do on a STD engine depends on your mileage and treatment of the engine obviously, mines done 106k wondering if she will hold 300-350BHP in the future? gearbox sounds tight no noises or crunches, had new clutch 10k ago so i dunno, just some info on other ppls cars would be great! so i can get an idea on what the likelyhood of my engine going bang is! lol
thanks.

nice well least i know and hope my mileage isnt a problem...
sorry to change threads, but can anyone tell me where i would find a manual boost controller on my car, because i suspect the last owner put one on there because it seems a lot quicker then 220 bhp and it doesnt look like it has any noticable mods on the car and it fuel cuts at high revs and high speeds like its overboosting..
thanks!

i wouldnt of thought that would be a prob caused by a manual boost controller, i would check ur actuator matey see if anyones fiddled with that.. But the manual boost controller would be on one of your vac lines going to turbo and actuator.

my last 97 uk turbo started at 208 but after japspeed headers/up-pipe,full decat hks system, induction kit,new age wrx intercooler conversion and walbro pump gave 256 bhp at engine tuner, couldnt remap at the time as needed stand alone ecu for this age uk car but ran sweet on the rollers with spot on fuelling.

You will get less people coming on here to say their engine has gone bang because people don't like to do it and also if an engine goes on that age of car many owners may just break and move onto another car/forum.
As per the other thread, don't ignore things like the gearbox. Mine stripped 2nd gear at 340/340 and to have it rebuilt was virtually the cost of the car's value (as values stand today). To add to that, I had around the cars value again in brakes and suspensions that could cope.
So even if the engine holds (I went through 2 engines), you will be looking at twice the cars value with suitable box/brakes/suspension, and that's ignoring the cost of the power mods.
Personally I would fit a AE800 ecu if your car runs the AE802, fit a manual boost controller and keep an eye on fueling and det. Should get you around 260-280bhp with a decat. That way your clutch and gearbox will cope.
Makes the proposition of a Bug/blob STi seem very sensible.
