Default gearbox and diff change

Looking over my paperwork in my 93 wrx I see its had a new diff and gearbox in 2007. Its definitely a short shift box, and I have lots of RA stuff on the car. I suppose the only way is to put the car on a ramp and see what codes are on the box and diff. am I right to say all 5 speeds give up at 300ish - 350 bhp ?

it all depends how you drive ? if you like launching at every set of lights ,then youll kill it in no time ! as long as you pull away smoothly from a standstill then give it beans , 350 bhp should be ok ? but yea 350 is on the limit for 5 spd really .

I was sort of hoping there are a stronger 5sp, as I just wondering why a diff change at the same time.

i had a ra box in my 1993 wrx, and took loads of abuse for nearly 4yrs, a good strong gearbox IMHO.
