Default new clutch fitted, advice needed

giys, just had a clutch replacement done on my 1998 turbo 2000... fitted an exedy uprated clutch which i bought from scoobyclinic, so i know thats sound, and the garage the car went to fitted a reconned flywheel for me, so every thing is brand new almost.. problem is, i have done 40 miles approx, which is ample for the clutch to bed in, thing is its juddering like mad when seeting off, and when you drive the car hard, when changing into 4th and 5th, the clutch peddle sticks as it comes back up, which means i gotta pull it up with my foot... during normal driving its fine... any ideas?

also, i have a lot of play in my gearstick, which is actually the ball part at the base of the gear stick.... are they available as a replacement part?

cheers

andy

sounds to me like it just needs more bedding in .. try dipping the clutch a few times before setting off that might help

just to jump in on this one i had my clutch changed at a subaru dealer in germany ( where im based) and ever since its been done there seems to be free play in the clutch pedal it chatters as i go over bumps! does this sound like it requires bleeding too as ii didnt have much luck with my translation with ze germans!!

Which clutch was it, organic paddle etc. Also as said maybe worth checking the slave cylinder is secure and bleeding the clutch to be on the safe side

mine was a from scooby world, competetion cluth stage 2!! what it said on the box lol, mine also juddered for about 500 miles but ze germans failed to tell me the fly wheel was slightly blue and didnt offer it to be skimmed ! all seems fine now apart from pedal rattling/chattering over bumps

bleed the slave/check the return spring on the slave is fitted under the top mount/and give it a good launch to burn any residue off and clean the flywheel/clutch plate up.

also unbolt slave from gearbox so bleed nipple is on top (highest point)
push piston back
secure piston with g-clamp etc so cannot pop out
and bleed it

a couple of good launches shouldn't damage a new clutch any excuse

i'm getting the same uprated organic exedy clutch fitted to mine on wednesday. not from scoobyclinic or scoobyworld though, got it far cheaper. picked up a forged fly wheel as well.

Free play can be adjusted via the pedal and can need doing after a clutch is bedded in.

car is booked in for fri.. garage reckon the return spring on the release fork is missing, hence pedal sticking.... they should do that for free shunt they? he also reckons juddering caused by play in gear box n diff which is understandable...
