Default car wouldn't start

Hi all,

After many attemps to start my car I finally got it going, it just seemed dead. The fuel light has stayed on and the engine management light is on. It's driving very lumpy at the moment too. Lately the power has been coming in waves and it feels like it's going to stall while idle. It's a 2005 wrx (52k miles) and was remapped to 285 bhp about 3 years ago. A mate of mine said it might be the MAF.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I thought you guys actually knew something about cars !! - Only joking, I suppose it could be anything, getting the RAC out later to start it and have booked it into a scooby garage for a check-up which isn't cheap for 10 minutes work !!

Yeah, that's why I've booked it into Subaru. Hopefully there's something to do in Chichester while I wait.

they will charge you the price of a cheap code reader to tell you the fault! Make sure you get a full written report from them, after all that is what your paying for, its not a secret!

Will do. Just hope it's nothing major. My local garage checked the codes 2 weeks ago when the engine management light came on originally and it said contact subaru, so they are the only ones that can do this.

The RAC came to start the car up on Friday (2 hours later than they said they'd be), and it was just a knackered battery in the end. I was quite hopeful when the car was totally dead earlier that morning. The central locking is still making a funny noice so not sure if this is draining the battery.
