air lock in fuel tank

3 times now when filling in when half tank of petrol get in a litre then overflows and will not accept more but if drive till i have a third of a tank i can fill till full-anyone got any answers??

your tank maybe full but the gauge is telling you lies or the breather in the tank blocked

must be breather as cannot dive 100miles on air lol
