Hi all I,m new to the scooby world but lovin it. I have just bought a 1996 turbo 2000 and as far as I can tell it,s standard apart from exhaust and air filter. The problem i,m having is when I boot it from a standstill my boost is intermittant however when in third it goes like stink. Just wondering if it could be the wastegate actuator. Any ideas and how to check these parts would be much appriciated.

Can you be a bit more specific on when it happens? Have you checked to see what ECU is and whether its been chipped or the like?

So far this sounds more like an ignition / fueling issue rather than a boost leak or something. What boost is it running, does it hold steady in 3rd 4th 5th? Need more info...

Hi as far as i,m aware its a standard d7 ecu I have no idea what boost its running however should i should i accelerate gently in to the boost it will go like stink and runs sweet off boost. If I nail the throttle in any gear it gets to boost and then bunny hops with the boost coming in and out. Hope this helps as really need some help......

Could be Throttle position sensor, could be fuel you are using, could be MAF, could be spark plugs or coil packs...

Apart from the TPS, remove all of these and clean them, carb cleaner on MAF, no need to touch it, check sparkplugs and coil packs.

Any error codes?
