Swapping my00 ae802 ecu for my99 ae800
Hi, ive bought me an ae800 ecu for my00 Uk turbo to replace the (supposedly) worse later version ae802 that came in my car as standard which apparently according to ecutek's website runs rich and has a less aggressive map ie boost etc. It will also hopefully get rid of the dreaded Uk hesitation under light throttle. This is just a temporary measure as I got it for a good price, whilst I save my pennies for a simtek ecu. Anyway enough waffling on. I just want to know if there's anything I need to do when swapping the ecu's over, such as doing it with a cold engine or hot engine or anything like that. Might sound daft but after the money I've spent on a rebuild, believe me I'm taking NO chances!! Lol

Hi,
I done the same thing last night - albeit swapped my 802 for an 801 and was just plug in & drive.
Only driven about 10 miles to work & back today but all is fine.
In those short miles it feels a lot better
As said, mine was plug & play - but can't comment on condition of your ECU being fitted if know what I mean.

They replaced the 800 with the 801 very quickly, take that as you will, the ae802 has the roadside emissions stuff on, hence why when you sit in 2nd gear for instance for too long and put your foot down.... well nothing lol, you need to blip n go, easy enough to drive around
