TD04 13g to 13t or 15g upgrade ?
Hi everyone!
I'm currently using td04 13g (saomeone said it's 13t because it's from impreza wrx) on my 1.6 16v peugeot but i need to upgrade. The problem is that i have no place for a bigger td05 and i need to make some hybrid with my td04. As soon as i know my options are 13t comressor wheel (if i currently don't have one) and my other option is 15G wheel. What real gains i'll see with this upgrade and also is it worth to port my exhaust "intake" for a better flow of the exhaust housing. My goal is 1.1-1.2 bar boost up to 7500 rpm on 1.6 liter motor. Thanks!

I have a TD04HL which comes with a 15T compressor wheel. This turbo came with the new age JDM WRX (more info about this turbo here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1213890)
I'm able to run 1.4bar mid range (boost cut is 1.5bar and the turbo can hit it) and 1.1bar at redline. It will therefore be able to hit your targets.
There are even bigger compressor wheels for this turbo. I see wheels as big as 19T being advertised for the TD04 turbo on Ebay. You will have to modify your compressor housing or possibly even buy an entirely new one when increasing compressor size.
Porting the turbo and exhaust manifold will help to reduce lag.
