Question Turbo oil seal

Hi folks

How bad is it when the oil seal goes on the turbo?
Can it be driven for a little while until it gets fixed that is? Does it leak much oil? Is it a big job to sort and is it costly?

Thank you

The vf35 has two little pistons with a single ring as an oil seal behind both the impeller and the exhaust wheel. 1 behind each. Repair kits are available on ebay that include these. Repaired one a year or two ago that was leaking oil into the wastegare area. Any competant/careful mechanic can repair. Be careful not to upset the balance though.

Is it a viable repair or would it be just as easy and cost the same as going out and getting another turbo the same?

Thanks

Your decision really. Repair kit is £70=£80 from memory.
