TD04 not holding boost

TD04 not holding boost
Hi guys,
Had my car remapped by Graham last friday, got to say, had a great day, and he defo knows his stuff!
Anyway, during the mapping the turbo was not holding boost very well and didn't achieve the figures we were looking for. (i've attached a copy of the graph)
On a 3rd and 4th gear run, the turbo seemed to stop working all together, then suddenly kicked in at nearly 1.5 bar!
Graham said he could hear a rattling through his knock sensor at about 6k rpm and we put it down to the turbo. I'm getting a new (used, lower mileage) TD04 turbo to see if that solves it and putting on a decat uppipe at the same time.
If anyone could throw some light onto this i would be grateful!
Car has done 100k by the way. With decat centre back box and green filter.

Hello mate, know how you feel, went through all sorts to get it where it is today.
Car wouldn't do what its meant to, three turbos, VF24, and VF35, all did the same, didnt boost until really high rev range, but when put on other cars, worked as they should. In the end the gaskets went, so changed engine as someone I knew was selling and proven to work well, and all is good now, so maybe its not the turbo, could be your engine, so get other things checked. Good luck.
These cars are fun, but can be a pain if not doing what they should. Keep us posted on your progress.
