ok so cleaning car today etc 2002 sti, and discover driver floorwell wet carpet and underneath from feel of it, also the rear same side, nothing on the passenger side?
and cant see anything obvious, felt carpet right round and does not seem to be coming from above, i.e leak from anywhere, but have a funny feeling it's coming from the front then overflowing to rear, now there has been alot of rain here this last week, almost every day.
BUT seen a few threads about heater matrix going and floorwells filling up, just away to check coolant now, anyway other sure way to tell if it's that?

just checked coolant, header tank is full by the looks of it, and overflow bottle next to radiator is sitting between full and empty pretty much where it always is?

checked passenger floorwell bone dry, also pulled carpet back at transmission tunnel at centre console and all dry?

sure it's coming from around there driver side though??

Yep, Im serious, dip fingers in and taste it: if it's sweet-ish, it's coolant.

You ever had the front windscreen replaced? Mine was, and leaked afterwards.

front windscreen has not been replaced and nothing been done or addes etc around the front lately, most of it has dried up but will try and get some to taste lol, no colour to it from when i was mopping earlier looked clear, went for a run in the car heater on hot and cold and up and down, all temps came through as they should, back to house checked again at transmission tunnel etc all bone dry still and coolant same.

gonna have to do more intensive investigating i think, thought there may have been some distinctive if it was matrix like loss of fluid or heater not working right?

You normally get a sort of curry smell with coolant leaks (when coolant is hot) so if there is no smell i doubt its your heater matrix.
