I believe remap will bring you close to desiered number (if you have 2,5 STI that is)

Hi,

Do you Have a warranty with the car? If so then it will be void if you remap? Only thing that will keep warranty is if it's the ppp package!

Also is it sti or wrx?

STi or Wrx? STi mean easy Wrx means hardwork and things might start breaking apart at that power!!!

Na.. go with full 3"decat turbo back, walbro pump, good panel filter maybe a 3 port solenoid and a remap you will be laughing bye-bye to 330bhp..

Yes you wont.

Try panel filter,3 port selenoid and walbro....cheapest tuning stage.

Sports cat it and you should be fine, look at Cobra Exhausts there good quailty and well priced. 3 port, decent panel filter K&N, 255 fuel pump then remap.

Only my opinion though.

The second you remap/exhaust etc you will lose your warranty, simple as unfortunately, there is only one tried and tested modifications pack that does not invalidate your warranty and that is the ppp.

As above comment, Check with dealer how much they`d charge if your bothered about the warranty which I imagine you are. Good luck with your project.

The original re circ valve is best for the car anyway! Ppp is your only option to keep your warranty but don't think it will make anywhere near 350bhp but could be wrong!

You wana keep the warranty then you can forget modding anything to it, almost any engine power upgrade would invalidate your warranty. Your other option is go for a prodrive pack upgrade, for around 2 grand for an exhaust filter and fuel pump with crappy map too!!!

If it's the 3 year manufacturer warranty then it is worth something. If it is just the main dealer 12 month warranty because you bought it from a main dealer then it's not worth much and hardly covers anything. I was reading the small print and it says it doesn't cover cracks in the cylinder heads or block as well as other bumph (basically meaning it doesn't cover any engine failures what so ever (modded or not!).. and also cheekily says it does not cover known manufacturer faults and recall items.. WTF (I think I would fight that one in court)?? It really is a useless warranty. My old Nissan warranty was far better. Subaru should take note. So if I were you mod ahead I have the PPP (prodrive performance pack) and the map is pretty bad.. very lumpy in low gears.. making it very hard to drive, not smooth at all, but does give a nice shove of power but tails off. The PPP only gives 310-316bhp though. Far better off getting a custom remap. 350bhp and 380 lbs.ft is normally the tops with a stock (standard) engine. After that you need to look at rebuild to make it more reliable, allowing you to take it to 370+. Im sure Andy forrest will point you in the right direction. He's one of the best tuners. Or a company called Race Dynamix, again very highly recommended, do custom remaps but at a lot lower cost as there is no license. Duncan at Race Dynamix tuned my car and it is now very smooth and producing healthy reliable power. He also travels to your doorstep and goes all round the country. You need to show us some pics of your new motor! Hayward and Scott do one of the best custom exhausts for the impreza. BMW M cars have a lot of custom exhausts done by them, but they're very reasonable prices too.

I'm thinking you are missing my question. What turbo does Subaru fit to a 2008 STi in the factory?

I think it is a vf43 or possibly vf48, unsure when the 48 was introduced! Both good turbos with a proper remap.
