Default Oil pressure sensor, where will i find it?

Had my car a couple of months now (51 bugeye wrx) It has an in car oil pressure gauge (along with a few others) but it doesnt work. I can only assume the wiring for the sender or even the sender has never been fitted. (as the car has reciepts for all other gauges being wired up, but not this one..) I am wondering if someone knowledgable on the turbo flat four could please point me in the direction of where someone may of fitted a sender on the engine? I dont want to go buy one, only to find it already has one, also this info would confirm to me the best place to fit one if i do have to buy. Thanks in advance.

Oil pressure sender is usually fitted under the alternator and T'ed off the oe sensor which just runs the oil warning light.

Just had a look, there is what looks like a crank sensor on the top of the block (directly above the crank centreline) and i cant see any oil related pressure switches/sensors, got an exact description of where it is/beside? sorry to be a pain, thanks

Before you do that check alternate positions:

From a sandwich plate between oil filter and block
Screwed into top of block on top of cylinder No3, which is driver's side, rearmost.

Finaly, trace wiring backwards from gauge and find what's on the end of it: silly to buy a sensor if one is there, unused.
The sensor WILL be only usable with it's own gauge and vice versa, so buy a sensor, if needed, FOR YOUR GAUGE.

NO worries pal, I fitted mine yesterday and used these from flea-bay;

worked a treat, no leaks and very accurate readings.

Nothing else on it, ordered a remote fitting kit, oil temp adaptor (for above no3) and a pressure sensor specific to my gauge (although most are the same ohm/pressure range by the looks) thanks for the info guys
