Hi there, i have a scooby on 07 and have a weird knocking noise coming from the rear of the car at first i thought it was the exhaust come loose but its not and i can not find it my self for love nor money. Just trying to resolvr without the expense of the garage. i would be gratefull if any one has any ideas cheers Eric.

The rear near side shock is my guess. I have a rb 320 which is on a 07 and got the same

Cheers baz it gives me some thing to go on if i need to take her in to Subaru.By the way any ideas on cheap scooby insurance?

Hi guys, Think possibly you'll find it's the rear shocks, It's extremely common on New Age Scoobies, I also have a STI Blobeye with the same noise which is curable if you are a serious home mechanic, go on the Subaru Impreza Drivers Club website and look into Tech advise/common faults and it explains how to repair or stop the noise, Don't have a go if you are not confident with this kind of repair, If it's the shocks make this noise it's not causing any harm. Alteratively replace the shock but they are expensive. Maybe time for an upgrade coilovers? Anyway Good luck with this.

i had the same on a 06 whent for coilovers
Knocking still there!!
my carcoal filter had lost a bolt replaced but still there.
just about given up now.
