Default Clockspring wire query

Any of you guys know what this wire is for? The one Im holding/the arrow points at?

On the second pic its the black wire on its own (it just comes up behind the clockspring in the pic)
Im in the process of fitting a new boss and wheel but the new boss doesnt incorporate the existing clockspring so it needs to be taken out, and Im curious to what the wire is for before I remove anything. My car is an 05 sti if that helps. It seems to be different to earlier model blobs in this department

Thanks
Bernie

As far as i'm aware, the black wire next to the yellow one in the bottom pic is the horn (might be wrong) Not to sure about things like this Some of my friends have blobeyes but not the last versions.

Some manufacturers make a clockspring to cover all variants in the range - ie with/without cruise or radio steering wheel controls etc.

If it isn't the horn wire - it could well be just a plug for one of those.

Tbh after reading similar things on the USA sites that does sound plausible
My only concern tbh is that it's nothing to do with the DCCD light

I know Dave Garrett on here has the same car as me and has done what i'm about to do,but unfortunately he's not been around lately to ask

Thanks
