Default Urgent help needed, electrical cut

Help!

Occassionally everything just cuts out momentarily when driving - lights go off, dials go to zero then it starts working again.

There's no pattern to it, it can do it at full boost, turning left or driving normally. Is there a loom plug or a common earth somewhere that is sometimes suspect?

Any guidance appreciated!

You say you have a competition, so does your car have an main battery/cut off isolator key like in rally cars etc? The big red key type switch made by the likes of Autolec etc.
If so they are very prone to failure and symptoms like you describe.
I always carry a spare one in the service van when we are doing a rally.

Yes it does - just looking at that now, didn't realise there was much to go wrong on them.

Thanks all so far

The contacts in the switching part become furred up/corroded with been switched on and off. You could try connecting both the leads to one pole on the switch and drive it to see if it still cuts out etc.
