Question engine check light

hi all. so i found out the cause of why i had NO horn seems that sum of the conection blocks under the steering wheel was disconected tho god knows why. so i conected them all back up and all was fine for a few days but now i have the dreaded engine check light flashin on and off constantly. car runs perfect no faults what so ever but how can i get rid of this engine check light thats constantly flashing on and offf? would an ecu reset get rid of it? any help would be greatly apreciated.

car is W reg uk 2000

Some of the connectors under the steering wheel shouldn't be reconnected (Green/Black) they are for diagnostics and ECU manipulation only.
