Default V4 sti remapping

Hi guys,

Have done a fair bit of searching here and there's lots of really useful info, but I wanted to double check something.

I have a V4 sti and have replaced the exhaust as it was looking a bit swiss cheese(ish) with a complete stainless system....does it need a remap? or is it ok to use as is with vpower fuel?

I realise that to remap I would need a different ecu, but could I use a v5 ecu (assuming that I can get one) as I believe that these can be remapped?

Sorry if these are all really basic questions, but if you don't ask, then you don't know

Hi as for the ecu i dont think you can use a v5 in a v4 as there totally different,v3 and v4 are interchangeable but neither can be mapped. As for the exhaust cat back doesn't need a map

Thanks for the info about the ecu. The exhaust is a complete system not cat back.

As you have a sti watch your not overboosting, you need a map done to get the most power and make it safe, although some will say they have used them with no problems.

Options are ESL daughterboard, £550, (out soon), Apexi FC ecu second hand (£350-550) then mapped £225, or Simtek ECU price to be confirmed.

Any questions just ask!

Graham
