Classic Impreza turbo stuck in 5th gear :-(
Racing last night with hard changes and now completly stuck in 5th gear, im guessing has bent a selector folk.
Can you buy new or uprated folks?
Has been running well over 400bhp for last year so has done well for a early classic gearbox.
Going to strip box and have a look, but what could be best option to go for, and not too expensive......?

 

Cheap option would be a second hand box.

But while its out the car and especially with the power your running i would fit something stronger.

 

Any places i can buy single selector folks etc? If that is the fault.

 

Stripped box but cant see anything wrong, no metal particles, broken teeth or bent folks obvious, once removed the next to end casing part of gearbox where centre diff goes could select all gears. The main selector arm looked like new aswell, what could it be?????

 

I have the exact same problem but I went and got a recondition gearbox which is getting fitted tomorrow I will have to see if the mechanic can let me know what is exactly wrong with the box in my car. but if you find out anything please update your thread and if I find out anything else I will do the same.
