Default Standard classic turbo charger code?

Hi, i have a classic 1995 impreza turbo(NOT IMPORTED), could anybody tell me what the turbo charger code is as i want to upgrade and need to know what the standard turbocharger is?

Would a IHI vf22 be a good upgrade for it, and would it be a straight swop over?

Thanx
Snake.

It would be a TD04H, and side entry.
I'm sure the VF series are off later Impreza's, so will be front entry. So you mayhave issues there to start with.
A TD05 would be as near as you could get for a straight swap, and makes up to 330bhp with supporting mods.

it would be a tdo5 turbo, all uk pre facelift classics had the tdo5 as standard.

Hmm, I must admit, I thought they had TD04's, except for the Wagon versions.

So my standard turbo will be man enough then!.... cool!
what other mods do you think i would need to get 330bhp from the car?

Fitted to the car I have:
Fmic
Induction kit
Straight through 3" with d-cat
dump valve

Not yet fitted:
Uprated fuel pump- would i need to fit this?

Thanks for any advice guys!

Pic of the engine bay just to be sure!

Think you may struggle getting 330bhp on a TD04.

Well theres a few turbos that will bolt straight on, all have different characteristics depending on what you want. For 330 I would look for a VF34 if you can get one.
Speak to whoever maps your car.. They are best placed to advise you.

have you even read my post or even looked at your turbo? you will find its a tdo5 and on the rare chance it isn't it will be because it has been changed by someone who didn't care whey they put on.

Ok, cool... i did think that(as put in the post with the pics!) but then was contradicted by "DOOD SCOOB" saying that it is a td04!
So as in my post with the pics in, what other mods do you think i would need to get 330bhp from the car?

Fitted to the car I have:
Fmic
Induction kit
Straight through 3" with d-cat
dump valve

Not yet fitted:
