Default Blitz vs Cobra vs Milltek

As you can see my first post, I am new to the Scooby world!

Need some advice on exhausts - quality, value for money, largest power gains, overall build quality etc. Some many to look at and i'm just banging my head against the wall!

I am using this as an everyday car so don't want it stupidly loud!

Help me out guys

Blitz - expensive / very loud - nice 'quality' sound / excellent quality.

Cobra - not 'expensive' - great VFM / loud (can get quiet trackday bb too) / decent quality / lots of options

Miltek - allegedly subtle (but nice roar on boost) / lots of options / VFM ??? / quality ???

As to which one is less restrictive, don't know. Make sure you get a true 3" bore system though, so you don't have to buy again (if you decide to go over c.400bhp in the future...)

I understand that Revolution exhausts are supposed to be free-flowing...???

Thanks for the feedback dude! Sounds like Cobra come out on top for an all-rounder.

You know anyone that has had bad experiences with these guys?

I supply Cobra exhausts and they are top quality, ive fitted a few for my customers and they always fit right without having to mess about with them. The weld quality is good and neat also. And as mentioned before excellent choice of options angles tailpipes etc.

I had a Cobra system on my old WRX and loved the bb design / noise / quality / VFM / ease of fit (absolutely no hassles here).

But now I like quieter exhausts. But as said, you can fit the Cobra resonated centre and the "Trackday bb", if noise is an issue for you, too.

Prodrive, although look/sound nice, apparrenty can be restrictive when mapping (as I was advised from a well known specialist)

i have a milltek system and the build quality and fit is excellent
it is nice and subtle on tickover and sounds great on boost!
the reason i went for it is it looks almost oem which is what i wanted as i dont want the halfrauds 80 inch dustbin tailpipe look.
also when driving it is still quiet on the inside of the car which after owning a cobra exhaust the cabin drone was awful on long journeys.
its a question of what you want from the exhaust.

with the cobra exhausts you can buy them with and without resinators in them so can tailor the sound to what you want

This is a random clip of my wife trying to DIY backend my wrx (she likes the loud pedal too), does it show she is too used to her semi auto X5??

Quite a deep sound yes. Put it this way I still managed to set off a car alarm when I used to have only a backbox

Milltek 3 inch System.... Nice raw on boost, but nice and quiet when cruising, not sure about other areas but police have clamped down on loud exhausts big time in Surrey and South London lately

Hks Hi powers about the same price as a blitz system - not quite as loud but very well made and sounds amazing through tunnels and on boost

Ok, it looks like Blitz are out of the question as, from reviews, a Blitz system would be too loud for what I want.

I have looked at a few Milltek and Cobra systems.

The Cobra stuff is a fair bit cheaper than Milltek; this worries a bit me because on an old Saxo I had, I bought a cheaper Janspeed manifold and it was a massive pain in the ****! Maybe it's worth a bit more for the Milltek?? Or will it really make much difference?

Also will a rensonated system decrease the flow of the exhaust and lower potential power gains from the exhaust and other mods?

I have the middle resonated section on my Milltek and it isnt holding my power back... just over 500bhp on a 500bhp rated turbo on V-power
