Question Service

Guys,

What needs to be changed on a 2nd service for a 2007 Impreza RX? (non turbo)

Subaru done first service at 10K miles and as its on 18K due shortly again, as understand it every 10K you need to service?

Fluids have never been changed from factory apart from oil, what would you recomend to change as first time getting impreza serviced with me.

I have read about changing diff oil etc? Does my car have that?

Thanks H x

Should say in the service book. Your second service should have been done a few years ago though. It's every x months or x miles. Which ever comes first.

As above, you should be getting your 4th service done this year.

12 months or x amount of miles, whichever comes first

Hi Helen

As the others have said, your car needs its 4th (4 year) service or 40k, its done on age or mileage, whichever comes first.
Your car also has diffs so yes that and the gearbox oil (maybe even the coolant), so its going to set you back a few quid unfortunately as they are probably more than overdue for changing.

Would it not be every 10K miles?
What you are roughly looking at is new...
Engine oil and filter
Air filter
Front and rear diff oil (I've never changed mine and im on 105K miles!!!!)
coolant
transmission fluid and filter (automatics)
Spark plugs
maybe a cabin filter as well?

The next service (50K miles / 5 years) will be belts and that's around £350

If you plan on doing it yourself (which is well worth learning to do)
http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/ are a good place for most parts, for fluids shop around locally.

Cheers guys!!

Sorry my mistake just had a look at my service book and the Subaru garage did the service at 36,000 miles/36 months. Car is only due to reach 18,000 miles therefore in October is the 48 months service if im right? Going to be pricey as brakes/discs required all round. :-( but i love my broom so much!!

Also MOT is required in 2 months so can it go to any testing station?

Poor blacky is growing older with no miles on him!! :-(

Pads and discs are easy enough to change which would save you a hell of a lot of monies, or get someone you know to change them. Yes, you can go anywhere to have an mot.

If you want pads and discs and dont want to pay the sort of dealer prices then go have a chat to Ian Godney or the likes (www.godspeedbrakes.com) to see what he has available
