Default Boss kit

I'm after a boss kit for my00 Uk turbo 2000, got an aftermarket momo wheel to put on. However I can't find one for a good price I found one on eBay but it says only fits wrx or Sti and emailed the seller and they said the same though I thought they'd be the same but don't want to buy it in case. So, anyone got a link to one??

Thanks

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Subaru-Impreza...item43a047e3d1

The one above states "NOT for WRX or STi". But he might well mean ANY turbo variant (inc. the UK Turbo 2000). Best contact the geeze...

Yeah that's the one I found, i mailed him and he said if it's not wrx or Sti it will fit, I don't trust that info thought cuz surely the turbo 2000 is the same as the import turbos! Never thought I'd be pushed to find a good value boss kit for a scoob!!!

Yeah I wouldn't trust.

I bought one for my MY99 STi 5 and it stated it WAS for a MY99/00 WRX and STi...

It fits the splines but that's all it does! .... It isn't designed to use the OEM wiring/mechanism for the hornpush, and can't make use of the indicator cancelling! Wish the ******* would state all this bollox, as we're not necessarily 'in the know' about all the drtails.

I've ended up having a small red momentary hornpush installed on the front face of the cowling, down on the bottom-left corner. And have to put up with canceling the indicators manually. ARRRRH!

Think i got the same problem as you, decided not to bother trying to get the horn to work and i'll just stick the original wheel back on for mot's.
never use a horn anyway, dont get why its a must for an mot but there's worse things to worry about

Having a horn might just stop you getting involved in side swipe or something. Like when someone that's a bit dozy is changing lanes or coming down a slip road, etc. A quick blast normally wakes them up and take action.

I'd feel exposed and unsafe without one, TBH.

Me too. Even though I've now got a nice 95mm-dished 350mm suede Sparco, an aftermarket hornpush, and can cancel indicators myself... It's just not just proper. It 'bothers' me lol

This is the boss i got for my MY99 type r
http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/OMP_...preza_3960.asp

It was the only one i could find that was a air bag model one that gives you space for the airbag and horn wires.

The one you need is the bottom one on the list that starts HKB.

That's the one I've got - well, the MY99/00 version.

But you would have to fashion a constant contact against the ring at the back to use the steering wheel's horn push. Plus it doesn't cater for the indicators cancelling feature.

Not sure what to say about the horn as the after market momo wheel i bought come with a horn push and wires to connect it to the oe wireing. My indicators cancel ok with this boss.

I think the MY99/00 car is different then. It does have a particularly weird mechanism...

Thats the one I got but I got it from demon tweeks and it came with a horn button, just no wires between the metal ring and the horn button so no horn.
My indicators go off and on as normal though.

I can not say 100% it will fit a uk car as i ony have experience of fitting it to a jdm but i dont see why not, the bottom one has space to run the wires from airbag and horn i dont think the top one does.

I considered that one.

But liked the 'rally-esque' rubber-plastic ribbed cowling of this one instead:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMP-Steering-H...item45f9459c8b

The colour of it is exactly the same as the MY99/00 steering column shroud. Which is nice.

What model/year is your car then bud? Surely someone must know of a kit that will cancel the indicators for my00 Uk turbo?! I can probably sort the horn out it's the autocancel I'm bothered about, sick of leaving the indicator on!
