Sorry forgot to mention, its an Alhambra (Galaxy) not a scoob.

But i need it running for the wifey & kids

Thought it might be the plugs, I've changed the distributor cap, leads & rotor arm so far

crank and cam sensors fail on all cars ( obvious ) and the reason or problem that it causes is a miss when hot and hard to start or a non start situation, if its got an individual coil pack ( as in not seperate ones then it will be the crank or cam sensor ,

if the coil packs ARE individual then check these by unplugging when hot to find the one thats broken , although try swapping it over to another cylinder aswell as the failing crank sensor can cause a miss on one individual cylinder when hot and you may mistake this for a coil pack or lead

Would look to coil packs, does it feel like it is 'missing' at all. Coil packs tend to break down when they get hot

If the crank sensor goes, i thought it would just stop. Or at least be rough when either hot or cold.

I've unplugged the MAF sensor - I'll try that on my next run and see what happens. Apprently the car has a default setting if unplugged

if the crank sensor completely fails then yes , but most show early signs when hot rather than cold

check for white smoke out the tailpipe as poor running when hot can also be head gasket , theres endless posibilities , start with tryin to fix the cheapest then work your way up

but 90% sure you need a crank sensor or coil pack

Seems to run OK without the MAF plugged in. I'll take it off and give it a clean
