i'm new to the forum so hi everyone
i have just bought a impreza wrx wagon import and i was told the car should be 260 bhp standard, i also have a uk imprezza wagon turbo (standard) and this car feels alot faster and boosts harder than the import so i do not think the import has 260bhp,
i have checked the vin plate numbers with this site http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html
and there is no bhp rating for my car, here are the codes

the car has a hks bov, stainless exsaust, induction kit, everything else is standard and the car has done 67k,
so can anyone tell me what bhp the car is supposed to be thanks

 

94/95 WRX Saloon would have 260bhp, a wrx wagon would be less (Think its supposed to be something like 220bhp)
a WRX STI wagon however would have the same power as an WRX STI saloon and be about 260bhp.

unless someone fitted an STI engine and ECU, your not getting 260bhp.

 

That is the power rating for the sti wagon, you car is a wrx and rated at 220bhp

the uk wagon has 208-214bhp depending on the year,
The import should be 220bhp out the box all early wagons ran the td04 turbos
only saloons ran 260bhp

beat me to it lol

 

I allways thought that the import on a wagon was 250/260and on the uk wagon it was 220.

Has the car been mapped with those mods on it ?

so it should be 220 bhp then, feels about right, its probably running less hp cos it might of had a hard life, i don't know much about the car exept it was imported in 2005,
it is a bit disapointing as i was under the impression that wrx wagon imports were faster than uk ones.

 

i don't know if it has been mapped, there is no paper work that came with the car to suggest it has.

 

throw a td05,and map should be 270-285bhp

 

it might be worth getting it remapped as these mods can hinder the car without mapping it

 

220ps (217bhp) on super unleaded (unleaded is not recommended), and you run the smaller TD04 turbocharger (similar year UK car, both wagons and saloons ran TD05 turbochargers).
On your standard turbocharger and with the correct supporting mods/ecu/chip, you should be able to run about 270bhp.
