Had the EML light today had the code reader plugged in error code p0171 system too lean bank 1, anyone shed some light on this ?

 

Hi there this error code mean as you said System too lean..
Just quick question,you have standard OEM Airbox?
Or you are recently fit new air filter such as cone filter?If yes you are fit cone filter i would try revert to standard.

What will happen if I still drive the car like this ?

 

Code P0171 reads "System too lean (Bank 1)" and code P0174 reads "System too lean (Bank 2)" What it means is that the engine is running lean. There are many possible problems that may cause the air-fuel mixture to be lean: Defective or contaminated airflow sensor, intake vacuum leak, dirty fuel filter, etc. this can result in burnt valves and melted pistons. i would not be driving the car until the fault is fixed
