Default STi turbo fit on WRX?

A family member has a Bugeye STi and is going to replace his turbo for a bigger one. I was wondering if it would fit onto my Bugeye WRX?

I am still new to these cars so I have no idea on what is inter changeable.

Thanks.

Yeah, it will fit. You will need a remap to run the car safely, and other supporting mods to get the most out of it.

Quite a common upgrade path and should "bolt-on". Of course you'll need a re-map and supporting modifications to go with it.

Well it has a stainless exhaust (still got the CAT on) and panel air filter. What else will it need apart from the remap?

330 ish. I have a bit of boost drop off at 5500rpm so my power is at about 300-310.

So is it essential to fit sti pink injectors, sti intercooler and fuel pump or could I just fit the turbo, remove the CAT and remap?

I wasn't really planning on big power, just more making the opportunity of a cheap (hopefully free) bigger turbo.

make sure you fit the correct oil feed pipe, as the sti one has a screw ending and goes to the avcs head oil feed lines and the wrx oil feed pipe bolts to the block and is a banjo style.

you could do the above, but you will limit the power as the turbo is being held back.

If you wanted, you could remap now and then remap again when you have the rest of the supporting mods. It is better to leave the turbo at home, collect all the rest of the mods, smack em on all together and only one remap required.

I went for VF35, STI pinks, decatted up pipe, Milltek 3" decatted system, Walbro fuel pump, panel filter and remap. Scored 312.1bhp, 298 ft lb on RR few weeks ago running standard intercooler. I don't want a big scoop or front mount, so keeping it as it is. Its very torquey and easy to drive at that level too.
