the main advice is pre-fill the oil filter, I prefer ngk plugs and oil, wow a can of worms there,I'd advise a 10/40 fully sythetic but others will differ. A genuine oil filter and new sump plug washer is good advise

I use 5w40 fully synthetic in my car, I always fill the oil filter before fitting, I also use ngk plugs. heat range depends upon the tune of the car,

Neither would i m8 but after you have been through a couple of engine failures then costly rebuilds it does make you wonder is this all it takes is to pull one wire off for 20 secs or so to prime my engine to keep it in tip top condition .. ive done it m8 with my first scoob gave it an oil change didnt prime it 2 days later rattle rattle 1200 pound later personally im gonna pull my wire off everytime ... choices choices choices

I agree yet ive been changing the oil on this current car for the last 70kmiles every 5k. and all ive ever done is pre fill the filter. Its now on 100k and not a problem at all. had the same on my last scooby too. I cant say for sure cranking is or isnt better lol
