Default Ecutek vs gems

As above when i get my car back and have run the engine in I'm gonna be wanting a remap of some sort. It's a my00 Uk turbo classic. My question is as its my daily driver I doubt i will be bothered with antilag or launch control, so is there anything to be gained by getting a gems ecu rather than an ecutek map on my std ecu?

Thanks

Hi fella, I bought a GEMS from Steve Simpson up at TEG sport and had it mapped, worst thing I ever did. (Must add TEG where great, Steve Simpson NOT) 12 months later I took the car up to Chy at Penine and he replaced the GEMS for the original 2003 JDM STi ECU mapped it again and it was better than ever. Sold the GEMS for £400 > loss of £1100

Personally now I would take my car to Tracktive Solutions and get the ECU (Hydra EMS I reckon) of Richard Bulmers choice, however I know that on a lot of these Scooby sites nowa days a lot of peeps are going for the Syvecs ecu, good bit a kit from what you read
