I think the twin fan system is for cars with aircon. I'm sure I only have one, on my MY00 without AC.

I think they only run on the newer cars, the classic one's dont (well mine doesnt and never have)

I got a 99 turbo 2000. So think your right cheers for that only had it for a year . Had a golf gti before and fan run when engine was off till it cooled down that's why i asked . Cheers for getting back to me
