Default Is it an STi?

Hi,

Im looking to buy an JDM 1995 WRX STi V-Limited in White. I having a hard time finding an WRX STi V-Limited model details listed from that year except for the WRX Type RA STi Version V-Limited but the one Im looking to buy doesn't have the RA roof vent and it's in white.

The things that point to the STi

Badges:
Round ones on the front fenders
In the engine bay (tuned by STi) on the accessory belt cover
On the seats (STi)
Pink "S" badge on the front grill
No badges in the back (de-badget maybe?)

Accessories:
Carbon Fiber Strut Brace
STi Intercooler (not black)
Red paint on the Air Intake manifold (its flaking away)
Black side skirts and spats
Gold 5 spoke wheels
Fog lights (no STi Covers)
Power antena in the rear
Medium sized Wing

V-Limited Trim:
Power mirrors + fold mirrors
Power Windows
Power Locks
Wind deflectors on top of the windows
Color coded door handles
Color coded mirrors
Blue-ish trim on the seats
Window wiper on the rear window
Red stitching on the steering wheel and shifter
A/C

Need some professional opinion...
Thanks!

My confusion comes from being unable to find any reference to MY95 STi V-Limited (Non RA) in here: http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html and having a reference to that model in here: http://wrxtypera.webs.com/identifymodels.htm but it caries a model code of an Type RA (GC8C4DD)

Anyone can shine some light on that?

The car is in a showroom condition, has super low km, good price and comes from good hands, so Im probably gonna buy it soon. Just wanted to know what Im buying...

i too would like to know, my 95 sti V-limited has a few things different to yours, mine has got the 1995 world rally champions badge on the front seats and on the boot, and the v-limited number on the boot, no red piping on steering wheel or gear ****, its got a pink grille badge, but not got a red inlet manifold and its got a black intercooler. colour coded handles, hi rear spoiler etc.

heres a couple of pics of mine

straight from wiki...

Version II (09/94 – 08/96) - GC8C
The regular STi's engine output stood at 275 PS (202 kW; 271 bhp) and 32.5 kgf·m (319 N·m, 235 ft·lbs) of torque. This was the year that STi started painting the intake manifold red. The car weighed 1,240 kg (2,734 lb) and had gold wheels like those on the World Rally Championship Impreza.
The V-limited STi edition was produced. It was a limited edition that was often used to celebrate a Manufacturer or Driver title award to Subaru's World Rally Team. The interior is colored blue on the seat inserts and carpeting. The WRX Type RA STi received a radio and air-conditioning in the V-limited form. 1000 WRX STi Version 2 V-limited were produced.
555 (the cigarette brand that was the premier sponsor of the Subaru World Rally Team and became synonymous with the Impreza WRC livery) WRX Type RA STi Version 2 V-limited were produced.

for pre 96 cars there was a wrx v limited and a sti ra v limited only

way to tell them apart is that the sti ra v limited had a roof flap.

if your looking at a car that has no roof flap then chances are its a wrx v limited and will be 1/1000. the sti ra v limited are 1/555. dont confuse either of these cars with the 555 edition either - they were not numbered!

http://www.type-ra.co.uk/pdf/v-limited1.pdf

be carefull, a lot of people think they are true sti when they are not. they are a wrx with sti bits on - japs and their endless special editions again!

so no its not a true sti. dont bother with wiki either!

Do you mean Model Year 96 or Production Year 96. The puzzling thing for me is that the Production Year 95 WRX V-limited had the badge on the seats. Mine does't, instead I have the "STi".

I'm leaning towards this being an MY 95 Produced in 1995 STi (not V-Limited) but with plenty of extras.

or

MY95 Production year 96 STi V-Limited, but that could make it a V3 STi that it isn't.

I guess I have to get a concrete answer on some more things. Like the Applied Number that will definitelly make it an STi or WRX and the True Production Year as it could put it closer to first production date of the STi V-Limited.

Does anyone know if the first WRX STi V-Limited was a Version 2 or Version 3 STi?
