Have you tried changing the knock sensor? Code 22 is a fault code present telling you the knock sensor isn't reading correctly or not present, so check all the connections.

Looks ok to me fella. Can't see a dv causing knock. You could try removing it all together and blanking it off, see if it makes a difference. If no change then it's not the dv.

hi yes i checked it on saturday and everything seems fine physically and it engine light comes on whilst plodding about at lower speeds if i sit at 70 it goes out?
i think i need to change it as car seems to drive fine except when lights on then it holds back under load
i just wondered if that pipe should be blanked off and could it poss affect this sensor?
cheers

Sounds like an intermittent connection fault perhaps, it will pulling the timing back when the light is on causing hesitation or flatness. If you can get it changed and go from there.

I had exactly the same problem on a 99 Type-R - check light would come on randomly every now and then with the same fault. I ended up buying a new knock sensor and the car has been fine for over a year now.
