Default new owner and enigine lights?

hi all i have just got a 1997 impreza estate turbo uk model and the engine check light comes on and goes off whilst driving
i have checked on here and done the diagnostic from info gathered on here and i think it comes up with the following
31
22
12
i think that 12 is the start switch? what fault is that as it starts perfectly everytime?
22 is the knock sensor what is that and is it the sensor or an engine fault?(it drives perfectly and the light comes on during lower speeds and goes off doing over 50mph)
and 31 is throttle position sensor again is this the sensor or the engine?
is it worth me removing the battery for 30 mins and see if it comes back?is it ok removing battery ie immoboliser?
any help greatfully appreciated
cheers
andy

Yeah, give the ECu a reset and see what its like after, they could be old faults. If they come back, then you know they need sorting.

Disconnecting the battery might affect the alarm, but if you know the PIN, you'll be OK. If you don't, do a search on changing the PIN and reset the ECU this way: http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...ledge/ECUReset

No you wouldn't. You might not even need it if you do disconnect the battery, but its better to otherwise you may still be stranded.

Changing PIN info was posted yesterday: https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...et-my-pin.html
