Default MAF Problems

Got a problem with my MAF (orange label 3 pin) just taken it off to find that its covered in oil was wondering if this could be part of the problem? I have another MAF to try but don't really wanna fit it just incase I get the same problem. What would cause oil to be this far up the intake its not like the filter I'm using is one that you need to cover in filter oil such as the K&n 57i kit I'm using a dry filter.

Any ideas would be helpful thanks for looking.

Clean the inside the MAF with carb cleaner.

The oil is likely to have come from the crank/cambreathers.. is it a high mileage car, or do you use high boost?

Blow-by. A catch can will prevent that from happening.
