Default Help !! Airbag light stays on,2005 wrx

My brother in law has a 2005 uk wrx, in the last couple of days the air bag light just stays on when driving. Has anyone had this happen to them? Will the airbag still work? cheers watties.

Under the seat there should be a connector for the airbag, give it a wiggle and it may cure the problem. This has happened to me and a few others i know.

hello its my airbag light staying on.
Gave the connections under the seat a wiggle but no change.
I wanted to check the fuse but you can't pull the airbag fuse out for some reason.
Guess i'll just have to take it to the garage unless anyone has any other suggestions.

Nope. i'm 6'6" so the seat has to stay all the way back.
i only had a quick fiddle cos it was dark and raining. tomorrow i will try pulling the connectors out and have a proper look.

No luck. light still on.
I've had a look on a few other forums and found 3 other newage impreza owners who said their airbag light came on at 55000 miles. Well I just hit 55000 so thats seems like quite a coincidence. I smell a rat.
Perhaps it just wants a reset?

Well the light has gone out by itself now so i guess it will remain a mystery.
I'll blame it on this guy.

Oh sorry i forgot to mention him You may find that it comes back on again and will go off when it wants. I was assured that the bag will still work if needed and it wont go off on its own which was my main worry

I have had similar issues in my 03 WRX. On a couple of occasions the airbag light has stayed on permanently for a couple of weeks then by the time I get round to getting it sorted it disappears again. Never have found out why

Everyone i know has been able to sort it by wiggling the connectors. I just hope that these problems are not my fault as i used to make air bags

Just as long as it won't explode in my face at random i can live with it coming on occassionally.
