Default Timing Issue

My timing was out got a picture on my profile, adjusted so that it was spot on with the timing marks but the car idles faster than what it did before i adjusted and it ticks over fine but the minute i try to drive its just flat and wont go above 2000rpm as opposed to the original problem when the timing was out it wouldnt go above 3000rpm without mis-firing it seems like putting the timing right has made it worse or is there any other causes?

Hello mate bought it with the problem. When I first bought it you could go to 3500rpm without a problem but as soon as you go over that it would mis fire and stutter while mis firing the temperature would flicker up. I took it to extreme subarus and he diagnosed it as boost control solenoid and lambda sensor the parts cost £400 but it still didn't cure I then changed the plugs cam and crank shaft sensor maf sensor throttle position sensor and 3 knock sensors. I checked the timing and it was a couple of teeth out and I believe this was knocking out the knock sensors so I put it back so the timing was spot on with the pulleys it started up first time and idles fine but the minute you try to drive it constantly mis fires which led me to believe it still must be a timing issue because after altering the timing it altered the problem e.g making it worse I'm going to take the covers off to double check the timing again.

By making the timing spot on could it still be a coil pack? And by setting the timing it's making the coil pack worse.
Thanks Laurence

yes it could be a coil pack ! the timing would not make the coil pack worse, its the timing being out that will make it run bad as that is the trigger for the spark, what age is the car ?? are you setting the crank at the correct position ??
