I've just bought a 93 WRX and have had a great day driving it about. However the fuel gauge is knackered and only goes up to 1/4 of a tank. Has anyone had the same problem and is it an easy fix?

Finally! Join the club mate. I'm still looking for a replacement fuel gauge for my WRX. Glad to see I'm not the only one to break the fuel gauge when trying to change the dials. :P

The worst thing is, I don't know when a replacement will arrive. Did I also mentioned that I destroyed a second one before they got out of stock?

Cheers Si. I'm in the middle of my exams so I won't be able to work on my car. Perhaps I can e-mail you next Wednesday instead when my exams are finished?

Mine did that 93 WRX , namely that when I filled the tank up it wouldn't go all the way to the F indicator. I recently had the fuel pump out of the car for investigative work on a non start problem and it works fine know. I did hear a while back that this is a problem on older cars and is something to do with a component in the pump assembly , Cant recall the exact reason .

Anyhow mines cured now for 3 months with reoccurrence yet and I didn't have to get a new pump , it could be something to do with the float assembly maybe.
