Na engine help.......

Hi I have a friend with a 2000 non turbo but is running on 3 cylinders. He's just bought a 1998 non turbo motor but has been told it won't fit. Is this correct? I thought ej20 is an ej20??

From: on the B Roads..

Think there was a phase one and phase two engine mate.. Not too sure how the differ tbh ?
