v5 sti high fast idle problems
hello all
please can some one tell me where i should be looking as i have an issue with my impreza
it has a fast idle between 2k and 3k .
its not been used for a while its running on simtek ecu with als and lc .
could it be an o2 sensor or is it bad ?

Hi Bud
I would mark idle control valve placement and take it off for a clean, the put it back where it was and see if that sorts it. If it doesn't carefully adjust the valve to see if any change, if not possibly aic valve. Als does kill these after a while!!

cheers mate . is the aicv the thing attached to the the throttle body . what should i be cleaning it with awell . is there any markings on the aicv so i know what i am looking at ?

Hi bud yes the aicv is on the inlet manifold to the right hand side. Clean it with carb cleaner or such. There are no timing marks as such so mark it's position before you unscrew it.
