Default Apexi boost problem

I have had an apexi ecu fitted with a td05 18g to go with the front mount and Full decat that was already on. (MY99 uk)

my mapper has managed to get it to 283Bhp with 255lb torque, but has encountered a problem, it won't boost more than 1.22 Kg/cm (1.2 bar near as dammit)

he can lower the boost but doesn't respond to any higher

We've had a Apexi 3 port on and the standard 2 port and they both don't have any effect.

on the sensor check I'm getting voltage, but I have noticed that on the function select, the car starts wether the boost ctrl function is enabled or not. (it shouldn't start on on or the other)

could this have any effect,
do I need a 3bar map sensor (I thought MY99 map sensors were high)

how should the boost be set up?

Point to note, My mapper is experienced, just do alot of apexi ecu's

Being a UK car it's likely that the restrictor pill is not sized accordingly to suite boost level that you are looking to obtain. However in higher gears does the boost increase? Or is it that case that 1.2 is the upper limit you cannot exceed at all? If it's the first, then it will likely be a boost leak, if the latter then the restrictor pill is the first place to try.

The car will start regardless of whether you have boost control on or not from the ECU.

the thing about the kit was taken from the skyline manual.

1.2 is the the most he can get.

it uses a 1.2mm pill, on the standard bcs

on the 3 port BCS is it required. It's been tried without the pill but still no joy

Assuming you are at max duty on 3port solenoid then issue lies with will actuator etc

What is actuator pressure?

What has mapper suggested?

The actuator is a 1 bar actuator
What should the 4 settings be roughly at in the boost settings on the hand controller?

what is the max duty cycle

the mapper has suggested boost leak or turbo problem, I was just wondering if there could be any other causes?

no offence taken, but he does know alot subarus, it's me trying to keep the cost down, every time we try something it costs me even when it don't work, and reluctant to spend three hours dyno time and not get anywhere anymore, already spent £500 on mapping and thats not including having the turbo fitted

Errrm only your side of the story but thats day light robbery or I am not charging enough.

If i attempt to map a car and there is an issue I try and sort it there and then and if I cant then advice how you can fix it. Any extra charge the next time when you come back would be my expenses ie. Petrol or dyno no mapping fee as it wasnt finished mapping the first time.

So yu have been to then twice and been charged 500 and srill having to come on here to ask how to sort it? And then go back to pay more?

Shocked.

300+ vat for initial mapping -

on this session discovered the boost problem, was initially put down to car wiring to the boost solenoid, as neither standard or 3 port worked, he said he couldn't do anymore without a fault finding session as i already had paid for the mapping and fitting of the turbo I said I'd think about it.
The day after, the solenoid started clicking (3 port)
so went back went on the dyno but still no joy exactly the same pressure
didn't get anywhere and cost £90.
he does want to try his simtek in it as you can control boost better with this. Not sure what to do I don't fancy paying out again if this don't work.

he Did suggest a boost leak somewhere but have checked all hoses and fittings and the seem ok.

it gets to the max pressure quite easy, surely a boost leak would show up on that.

I just wondered if anybody else has had a similar experience of this
