Valve clearances?

Valve clearances?
Went to look at a 52 plate STI today, it drove ok but quite loud "tappety" noise when i lifted the bonnet. Was wondering if they were bucket and shim or hydraulic? Or if they are hydraulic could it be ticking injectors?
