Default Steel beam under rear seat of new age wrx

Anyone know if someone sells an alloy version of the rear stiffner bar under the back seat of new age wrx? heavy thing could do with lighter job.

It would be a simple job to get one made, if you know any alloy fabricators.

When Scoobyclinic put a cage in my 03STi they just took it off and left it off and car was fine possibly because the cage adds stiffness. I thought it was there just to support the rear seat (which I also left out), I can't really see how it would add any torsional stiffness to the car anyway.

It is just to support the seat back. There isn't one on UK classics where the seats split/fold and are supported in the centre.

Hmm, will che that, when last looked it doesn't seem to touch the rear seat and looked more like a rear subframe support bracket. If I can do without it then bye-bye, it's gone.

Interesting, the one I'm referring to bolts to the two wheelarch fronts, just behind the seat back and definitely supports the seat back.
