05 STI Blobeye Tuning Help
Hi all would like a little help on tuning mods for my car
Car is a 2005 STI with PPP no other tuning mods other than Prodrive pack
im looking to get the car retuned next month when I fit my turbo back decat exhaust, my front mount intercooler and my induction kit is there anything else I could fit before the remapping that could give me a bit more power, im not talking heavy internal work just the norm bolt on stuff e.g., actuator or boost solenoid, all advice welcome.
Thanks Ken

Hi Ken your TMIC is good up to 400bhp,decated exhaust will be fine at moment, good panel filter K&N or Green and then remap and you will see around 330-350bhp.
At first forget on FMIC,Induction Kit if you brought sell them or return them,is no point for you at power where are you aiming fit extra and pay extra for fitting FMIC.

I will be fitting it all my self as it’s what I love doing.
Will get the car to the tuner and let them do there magic, I will be fitting the front mount as I personally love the look of them cut out behind the bumper and frees up the engine bay I know for the mod's at present its not needed but hay I love them and its already there for all the future work to be done,

And second, these money which you are spend on AVC-R or boost controller, you can spend on OS(Open Source) remap from Neil@Slowboy Racing,Rich@FB Tuning or Duncan@Race Dynamix and money will be well spend.

Ecutek is a long standing company who have produced map editing software and reflashing software tools and hardware along with recovery software should a reflash go wrong. They provide support and development, some of whic is paid for by the licence fee when a car is tuned using ecutek hence the slightly higher price. I am not aware of recovery software with open source software!
All long standing mappers use ecutek, take a look on www.ecutek.com for a list of dealers.

IMO I would rather utilise a good inner wing induction kit with air feed, than an in engine bay "open" induction kit. Isolation from any increased or unwanted heat is a benefit imo.

However in practice I notice no difference due to under bonnet heat and see more restriction to inlet track with inner wing induction kits.

Never tested back to back for charge temps, so not sure, but I understand what you are saying.
Regards restriction.... I tried both methods on the spec c and did not see any restriction between inlet tracts. I suspect that depends on a the entire application though.

Just an update will be going for nice big in bay induction kit after some good advice. The in wing induction kit is more prone of getting road dirt and muck all over it more care needed more risk, I will be getting the old tried and tested traditional induction kit.
