Wheel Offset & Skims
Hi All,
If you run a wheel (18" on 02 WRX) with an offset of ET45 on the same rear axle as another wheel with an offset of ET42 but put on a 3mm shim/spacer is this ok or a bad idea? What about tracking?
Thanks

In theory a ET45 wheel with a 3mm spacer should 'stick out' the same amount as if it was ET42 without the spacer, yes.
But I seriously wouldn't run an 'asymmetric' axle, where one combo is on one side and the other on the other side! Always run exact matching sides on an axle!
Also, if you do intend to fit the ET45s with 3mm spacers, then make sure you fit longer wheel studs to compensate. These tend to come in +20/25mm lengths over OEM, so some careful sawing off of the excess will be required for aesthetic/safety reasons.
API do pukka chrome moly studs i.e. tough! (+ various sized spacers too).
