Default OIL PRESSURE

Hi

I have a 1994 wrx sti , when i start car up in th morning, my oil presure is set at 0.6bars. at times when i drive hard and park up, my gauge will drop to 0.4 bars, i have 10/60 racing line oil.

Is this normal or is there something wrong with my car

p.s. when oil presure drops to o.4, i have to rev it abit to take it back up to 0.6

I sincerely hope you don't MEAN 0.4 bars? Surely you mean 4 bars?

0.4 bars is only just under 6psi, so your engine is fekked if that's right

However, if you mean 4 bar and 6 bar, that's fine.

When the engine is running faster, so is the oil pump, so the pressure rises. On tickover, the pressure drops as the oil pump is going slowly.

Your figures are fine.

Oil pressure can vary dramatically from engine to engine mate as i see 7 bar on cold start and just over 3 on warm idle but jump's back to just over 5.5 when i get the rev's picked up.
From what you say about your pressure i wouldn'd be concerned at all fella.
