Default scooby tuning what next

hi all had w reg uk turbo classic now for about 3 months looking for more power its already got full turbo back 3" decat with up pipe, K>N panel filter, lager new age top mount ic with forge bov, remap sti gearbox got print outs for 278 BHP done before lager intercooler was fitted just orderd new maf and walbro pump maf because cleaned old one and it went a lot better.

340-350 bhp would be nice,i was thinking td05h 18g turbo are the new ones on ebay for around £400 any good.

car has 440cc yellow injectors as standard can they handle 340 bhp or would they need upgrade.

would car need further remap if fitting new turbo

any help much appreciated thanks kev

Avoid the ebay special 18Gs they are complete sh1te. They dont make the power and they die after 200 miles in my experience.

A genuine 18G would be good or a VF43/VF48 would be my suggestion.

yes they work well

yes it would need a remap.

Your 440cc injectors will only cope to about 340bhp.. so would need to consider 550cc injectors too.

not see that happen in years..

I'd save your money and just get walbro, 550cc, turbo etc.. you mention larger intercooler but not what it is?

For 340-350bhp you can have look for VF34 and good FMIC and you will see 340-350bhp

You have taken a step backwards regards to the gearbox, the TY752's are not as strong as the TY754 you had in originally, as for power, more than 300lbs of torque and your on borrowed time tbh, plus its an old geearbox.

My last car, a X reg Uk classic had a Vf35 turbo, Jdm Sti8 topmount intercooler, 3 port boost solenoid,K+N panel filter,Walboro fuel pump and uprated plugs, plus uprated excedy clutch and remapped by Cotcomp of Garstang. Great fast road car and very reliable with minimal lag. Steve.

The VF28 is a quick spooling turbo, not as quick as the TD04 but good. Power potential of 40-50 bhp more than the 04. Standard turbo on STi5 or 6. Properly mapped with supporting mods, will max out yellow 440cc injectors.
