Helping my mate diagnose ECU error 24 on a 1997 Verson III Sti.

Obvious solution, as per posts was to clean up the air idle valve.

Air Idle Control Valve was removed but looked very clean. So regardless, the valve and all surrounding areas were cleaned and reassembled with a new gasket.

Attempted an ECU reset using the following post to no avail (code remains - no flashing OK lights during the reset);

Further reading uncovers an article with a post from Jolly Green Monster stating this could be related to problems with the TPS;

Can Jolly Green Monster or anyone else suggest the next steps to take to try to resolve this problem, before removing / adjusting the TPS and possibly screwing up the idle further? Have a spare TPS from a Version II and could use the one from my P1 to diagnose if necessary (unsure on number of pins until removed).

Nah just giving him a hand changing sensors and fixing his ECU errors.....and some other bits n bobs.

CEL came on and car doesn't idle great.
